Tag Locations

On the inside left side of Garcia's tag you will find--like on all Beanie Babies--a list of Ty company locations. Garcia has been spotted with two variations. The vertically middle location will have either the Waterloo, Hants or the Fareham, Hants locations. Of the two, the Waterloo location is most common. But on Garcia's predecessor, Peace, the Fareham location is very common.

Web site Sticker

An interesting item to find on a Garcia bear's tag is a white sticker covering up the official Ty Web site address. The section of the tag that said "Visit our web page!!!" and then listed the Ty domain name, www.ty.com, was covered up for legal reasons. Why? When Ty first applied for the domain name, he expected no difficulties in obtaining and went ahead and printed the tags with the address. However, someone else currently owned the address, leading to a courtroom battle over the name. Ty eventually won, but before the victory the address on the tags had to be covered up.
